Mistaken Identity

Oh!  Pardon me!
You are paying lip service to me,
And you have been intently faking interest
As I speak about the nonsense in my life
(which only happens to be the essence of my soul).

Blind!  How dense I did not notice!
You are very flattering to listen,
And allow me to feel alluring for a change
As I speak about the nonsense in my life
(which only happens to be the essence of my soul).

How kind!  What charity!
Giving your awareness towards me,
Permitting me to feel connected
As I speak about the nonsense in my life
(which only happens to be the essence of my soul).

Fooled!  Mislead by your true intentions!
Quit looking at me seductively,
Ensnaring me to your sensitivity
As I speak about the nonsense in my life
(which only happens to be the essence of my soul).

Why do you pay attention to me?
Why do you take the time to attract me?

I will not beat you.
I will not harm you.
I would never demean you.
I would always treasure you.

Someone like you never falls in love with the nice guy.
I am sorry…
You have mistaken me for someone else.
