Dreaded Intellectual Complacency

Astounding |{species} we [humans] are!
Four thousand years | {discoveries
never imagined} and [universal axioms stripped
away] our knowledge is limitless.
We work around reality’s idiosyncrasies.

Baghdad held our {{universal}} knowledge
as translated from Alexandria.  All the
greats;; Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Archimedes,
Hypotenuse, Plotinus, Copernicus, Galileo,
Descartes, Locke, Emanuel Kant, Schleiermacher.

Hegel, Marx, Kierkegaard, Bohr, Einstein,
Heisenberg, Hawking, Penrose, Maxwell,
Spinoza, Newton, Pascal, Tesla, Planck,
Rutherford, DeBroglie, Hubble, Feynman,
Turing, Schrodinger, Neumann, Nietzsche, Levinas.

Surely you are familiar with their
great  works, of which they dedicated
their lives to {{furthering the understanding
of humanity and its place in the cosmos}}, so
I need not bore you with the details.

Such unbelievable luck that each of
us should be existing in this age of limitless
wisdom, so accessible to us all that we can
learn the deepest secrets of the universe and
see the face of God.

Don’t play the fool all your life.
There is a time for everything,
but surely there is time to at least learn
the monumental achievements
of the entirety of human history.

Nah, guess not…
Go back to your skate-boards,
surf-boards, snow-boards,
pop-rock, shallow movie sequels.

After all, why should you learn
the secrets of the universe
when your pathetic life
won't even be part of its recognizable history?
